Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 202 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities. These projects range from cleaning up local parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters.

The Capt. Champ Ferguson-Standing Stone Camp #2014 meets at 7 p.m. on the Second Tuesday of each month at the Monterey Senior Citizens Center.
The SCV is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendents of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved. Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces.

The Standing Stone Historical Society is made up of representatives of each civic group in Monterey. They meet monthly to plan for activities for Standing Stone Day, always the second Saturday in October each year.
